Dallas Stars
Since I was a kid, hockey has always been a passion of mine. I remember playing street hockey with my best friend when and wherever we could. Being that I grew up in Texas it was hard to find anyone that shared the same passion for such a cold sport in such a hot state. Maybe I should have fallen in love with football?
Once I figured that I wasn't the best on ice skates I lived my love for hockey through my best friend growing up who was quite the talented hockey player. I watched him go from house leagues to clubs and the high school team, barely ever missing games I would wake up at the crack of dawn sometimes to see him play.
My love for hockey dwindled once I went to college since I was in East Texas and had no exposure to the beautiful sport. It wasn't until the 2014 season that I fell hard again for the sport with the help of getting to know and even become good friends with the Dallas Stars photographer, Trey Hill. (Truly an amazing photographer!!) And to be incredibly honest, a girl.. or rather THE girl... she also made my attention turn toward the sport more as she also works for the organization.
Since then I have been showing up early to most of the home games so that I could shoot the warm ups. Shooting hockey is unlike shooting anything I have ever shot before. You have to anticipate every move and know the sport like the back of your hand to capture that shot. I truly love shooting the sport of hockey and I hope you love the images that I have shared with you!
